Royal London: We’ve improved a number of our occupation classes

We’re continually reviewing our products to make sure you can offer protection to more of your clients.

Almost one million people are off work for four weeks or more each year in Britain due to illness or injury1. Despite this, income protection can often be overlooked by people when prioritising needs and budget.

To help, we’ve improved the risk classification for a number of occupations. We’ve focused on the occupations that are applied for most often, committing to improving cover where it matters.

A different class

As an example, if you have clients who are airline cabin staff or publicans, they will now be able to apply for cover with us where they would have previously been declined. And care assistants, electrical engineers, graphic designers and financial advisers will all now see much better rates with us.

Our pre-sales underwriting tool will give you an indicative decision for your clients, whatever their occupation. Why not give it a try here
